Le Collatéral

Like the portrait miniatures of François Dumont and Nicholas Hilliard or the subtle curves of Auguste Rodin’s “Small Torso of Iris”, the four-room Le Collatéral is a tiny triumph, a minute masterpiece with sweeping views across the French rooftops of Arles that has become a creative sanctuary filled with art and design.

Downstairs, a very comfortable sitting room is enlivened with a digital artwork that evokes the strong presence of contemporary art in Arles. The sitting room is furnished with two low armchairs and lit by an Ineke Hans' piece. A daybed invites you to chill out and read a good book. Accessible by a wood and metal staircase, the upstairs minimalist bedroom has a view over a quiet, pedestrian square. Shutters give you the option of flooding the room with light or bathing it in a softer, subdued atmosphere. The adjoining bathroom in tiles and solid oak is equipped with a giant mirror and a Japanese bathtub.
